Hello, I have a WRT54G which I got quite cheap and 2 WAP54G, I would like the WAP54G to be clients of the WRT54G with 128bit WEP encryption, can this be done? I have tried but it doesn't seem to work,

    Any help appreciated,

    thanks,

What have you tried so far? Which settings?

I have tried setting a WAP54G (both have 2.0.7 FW on) as a client to connect to the WRT54G (latest official linksys fw) with 128bit WEP, but security on the WAP never stays selected,

    That's where I got stuck,

    thanks,

Does everything work without WEP enabled?

have you now broken the unit?

if you are still getting problems with the wireless connectivity, try upgrading to a 3rd party firmware like HyperWRT for the WRT54G and selct a hight signal output. also select either G only or B only for wireless network mode of the WAP and WRT units. this makes them use one only format as mixed mode can cause problems.

there are a few more settings listed in the FAQ about poor signal strentghs check them out here:
