    hi all,

i found a strange problem with tomato 1.06 and a v2.2 WRT54G. I normaly use my wrt with 100mW since 2 years, but i tried to increase the transmit power to 150mW this weekend. My notebook cannot connect to wrt @ 150mW.. It looks my SSID, just trying to connect (simple WPA), and auth, but without success. I tried 125mW and it was the same problem. but.. at 100mW or any other lower power it was good.

I tried 2 type of minipci wlan (tonze 686x, broadcom) and the problem is the same.

What do you think about it?

That is normal. When you exceed the design specifications of the radio, the result is a distorted signal that does not support / properly support communications.

Sorry. If it was my router, I would soak it in kerosene for 3 days.

Not all werts are the same. 150 mW setting is not the same value in different firmwares. If you have identical hardware version and identical firmware as the wert that werx at 150 mW, then your wert is defective. Otherwise, be happy that it werx at 100 mW.

I have a WRT54G v2.0 and can't even run mine at 100mW without getting negative side effects. The good news is that it does what I need it to running it at 42mW.

it's a bit strange, because at my neighbourhood, there are 3-4 WRT54GL (v1.0 and v1.1) and the problem is the same.
