I'm trying to block a site in Access Restrictions on my WRT54G v2.0, my firmware is 2.02.7, I decided downgrade and stay on 2.02.7 (which is what the router came with) when I had connectivity problems when I upgraded to 2.04.3, and none of the hacked firmware helped with that.

I have set:

Status: [*] Enable
Enter Policy Name: BlockedSite
PCs: IP Range 01: ~
[*] Allow (Internet access during selected days and hours.)
Days: [*] Everyday
Times: [*] 24 Hours
Blocked Services: None, None
Website Blocking by URL Address: http://BlockedSite.com/
Website Blocking by Keyword: BlockedSite

All the computers on the network (Windows XP, IE/Firefox) have their IPs set by DHCP.

I guessed that the website blocking feature works by using it's built in DNS Server (BIND?) so I set the static DNS in the options to but it didn't work. When I used NSLOOKUP and IPCONFIG in the command prompt, it still optains the DNS servers obtained by the router from the ISP's DHCP. Maybe the WRT54G doesn't even have it's own DNS server.

That's all I can think of, I'ld prefer not to block the website locally on each computer because that's a bit too tedius to manage and I wouldn't have Keyword blocking either.

I'm willing to upgrade to an official new firmware version only if there arn't any widespread reports of problems like the 2.04.3 and it's downgradeable to 2.02.7
