I have two Asus RT-N12 routers I am trying to utilize in my home network, and running into some issues. Both have always had a Toastman mod on them, and until very recently my 2nd one was configured as a wireless bridge for my WDLXTV Plus. This worked fine, streaming to my NAS was good, but I was under the impression wireless clients were connecting to both APs. Now I realize they were only connecting to my main router. The issue that has arisen is that I now have an Android tablet (Asus Transformer Prime), and the wireless reception is not the most robust once you get a little distance from the AP. So I have been trying all sorts of configurations of WDS/Repeater/Repeater Bridge on the 2nd one, and apps on the Prime to switch between the strongest AP. So far nothing has worked. Last night I tried DD-WRT (gasp...) in Repeater Bridge mode. I could get them to sync up no problem, but the signal on the Repeater (w/o security) dropped all the way down to @ 5mbps, and any wireless connections were almost impossible. So I need to have the 2nd AP configured such that it can connect both wired and wireless clients, and hopefully have a different SSID (Android has AP roaming issues, and there seems to be no workaround if both use the same SSID). Anyone have a similar experience? Recommendations on how to configure these routers so I can accomplish this?
