2 versions of the WAG354G????

Hi there. I have been considering buying this router.

I know that the model that this was based on (the WAG54G) had two versions which are different because of poor performace of the first version.

Also the first version of the WAG54G doesn't support ADSL 2 but the second one does.

What I would like to know is there any difference between what seems like the two versions of the WAG354G in terms of performance features and problems etc.

I know that one supports ADSL 2 and the other one doesn't.

    My situation is this:

I have seen a good offer for the first version of the WAG354G. This is one with no ADSL 2 sticker on it BUT it does come with a notebook wireless PCMCIA card with it.

I'm not too worried about ADSL 2 for now (not planning to upgrade in the near future) so should I get the first one or the second version?

I don't want to get the first one if it will be to the detriment of quality of performance like quality of connection, speed, signal strength etc.

So which one do you think that I should go for?

N.B In the interests of clarity Please note my situation pertains to the WAG354G and not the WAG54G. I used that only as an example.

    I appreciate your thoughts.

What makes you think that there are two versions of the wag354g ? I've only seen one.

Mine came with the pcmcia card (WGKPC354G-UK), has no adsl2 sticker on the box but does have adsl2 / adsl2+ on the side of the box.

There is only one version at the moment so it's either buy that or buy a different model or make of router ;) Of course Linksys could very well be working on a mark II so you could wait and see :D
