3 megabyte/sec on WRT54G 2.2 good enough?

When I copy 4 gb of 50 megabyte files from my computer to my laptop via a wireless connection through my WRT54G 2.2 DD-WRT latest version through an ftp-connection I get a constant 3 megabyte/sec transfer rate.
edit: the computer is connected via LAN cable.

Is that an acceptable speed? The wireless signal is 100% and I'm connected with 54 Mbps.

3MB/s is approx 25Mbps. and since Wifi is two and the 54Mbps is the total of Up and downstream I would say this is quite good. these are approx values using http://www.speedguide.net/conversion.php
