So far, Linksys has refused my requests to release GPL source for this router.

    Anyone have suggestions?

The hardware on this router is amazing... but the firmware is very primitive compared to the latest WRT54G options.

I think we should all adopt this router as the next-generation hackable unit.

It is GPL (micro Linux), but Linksys refuses to release the firmware source code... let's fight the fight, please!

I sent and email to Linksys asking when we could expect the code to be released and got back about as ambiguous answer as possible saying they don't have an aswer, that another departments controls that and when it's available it will be released. Well how about getting off you duff. Mr Linksys support rep and ASKING the other department when we can expect it.

Basically they are stonewalling and IMO have no intention of ever releasing it. It's probably because they know if they released it, the serious bugs with SPI and QOS would be fixed in a matter of days, making them look pathetic.

Has anyone been giving this a look?
Linksys released the source code and the list/download can be found here
    ftp://ftp.linksys.com/opensourcecode/wrt54gx4/

Just hoping as my coding is not so great so I can't do much other than poke around.

Sorry to pull this out of the gutter...
Doing a bunch'a Google searches without much luck.

Trying to improve my router, and make it easier to use it with my son's Xbox360

Has anyone got somewhere with this?
I'll be poking around a bit, if someone has a link they could post as a reply here?
It'll help me, and the next user that runs across this post after running google for an hour +

    Thanks!
