Hey guys, I'm running a 54G, newest linksys firmware, and my wireless connection randomly disconnects, it has excellent signal and all of a sudden I get network connection unavailable then boom it pops right back up as found the network excellent signal again. This happends 10-20 times a day, so I can't play games and always lose connection with my VNC client from work. Any ideas? I'm maybe 30 feet from the router, I have dual 7db gain antennas on the router, and a 7db gain on the card with a 5ft extention, so signal strength isn't an issue. I'm using a mixed network B and G, and I'm going to watch the other B computers, as mine is the only G and see if they are losing their leases as well. Any insight would be helpful.

Nobody has really figured out the problem to this but there are a couple of things you can try to get it solved:

    1. Change the channel to 11
    2. Did you do the hard reset after you upgraded the firmware (possibly try a third party firmware (HyperWRT/Sveasoft)
    3. As you stated check the network mode b/g, set to b only and see if it happens, then g only.

I have it set to 11, and I have tried WRT firmware, then reverted back, and both times I did do the 30 second reset, and neither have been good at it, its like I mind as well go back to a B router, linksys has been disappointing lately. I was about to buy a new computer because I thought it was the PCI slots going bad because it does it no matter where my wireless card is, but never did with my B router. I will try the non mixed mode and see what happends.
