I've been doing a lot of research about this router and making a bridge between two of these routers. My main question is: will the newest version of this router be able to make a wireless bridge? I've been reading that the newest version ( i think it is v 3.0) has not had any 3rd party firmware written for it and that the original linksys firmware does not support bridging.

so, is it worth it to get the newest version? These routers are only going to be used as bridges, so i don't care about actual routing.

any comments or suggestions are welcome! thanks for the help :)

Try DD-WRT, there is a transparent bridge mode. You do not have to get the latest version. When doing firmware updates, always reset to factory default setting and do the upgrade from a wired ehternet connection.
