Iâ€™m having problems setting up a wireless access point in my home and was hoping someone could provide some guidance regarding trouble-shooting the problem. I have an Open 824RLW modem-router flashed with the Billion 7404VGP firmware. This is my main router and is providing DHCP to the network in the IP range 192.168.1.3 to 192.168.1.20. It has the following setup: IP Address â€“ 192.168.1.254 Subnet Mask â€“ 255.255.255.0 I have a WRT54GL wireless router flashed with the Tomato 1.23 firmware that I want to use as an access point with the following setup: WAN Internet â€“ Disabled IP Address â€“ 192.168.1.1 Subnet Mask â€“ 255.255.255.0 Gateway â€“ 192.168.1.254 DHCP â€“ Disabled Routing Mode â€“ Router Here is the current routing table: Destination Gateway Subnet Mask Metric Interface 192.168.1.0 * 255.255.255.0 0 br0 (LAN) 127.0.0.0 * 255.0.0.0 0 lo default 192.168.1.254 0.0.0.0 0 br0 (LAN) The WRT54GL is connected to the Open 824RLW using an Ethernet cable via Ethernet port #1 (not WAN port). WORKING: I can access the WRT54GL admin pages from anywhere within the LAN and I can also access other computers & routers within the LAN via a connection through the WRT54GL (Iâ€™m testing with a Ethernet cable connection to the GL at this point and excluding wireless from the debugging process). I can also access external internet addresses perfectly with connections via the Open 824RLW router (via wireless or ethernet). NOT WORKKING Any external internet (e.g. www.google.com.au) request made via the WRT54GL router doesnâ€™t work at all and the ping diagnostic on the router also doesnâ€™t work for external network addresses. Can anyone advise where I should look to resolve this issue? ADDITIONAL: Iâ€™m not sure if this is relevant, but I have another WRT54G in wireless bridge mode currently connecting to the wireless of the Open 824RLW. Once the GL access point is enabled, Iâ€™ll be disabling the wireless on the 824RLW (due to its poor performance) and using the WRT54GL to complete the bridge instead. Thanks in advance.
