Access Restrictions Policys on a WRT54GS

Hello I'm trying to set up some policy's on my 54GS but I'm hitting a few walls and was wondering if someone could tell me what I'm doing wrong.

I'd like to block all access from 10PM to 10AM, allow access to everything but AIM from 10AM to 6PM and have unrestricted access from 6PM till 10PM. If set it to allow access for a period then by default shouldn't it deny access any other time other then what it has been set to allow. This would be logical but it dose not seem to work that way. If I try and set it to block from say 10PM to 12AM it just tells me the start time is grater then the end so I have to set up two scrips one for 10PM to 11:55PM and one from 12AM to 10AM and this leaves a 5 min window open.

Are the access controls that bad if so whats the point. Any help would be much appreciated.

After much trail & error: Using the above access restrictions on a WRT54GS and it works 100%.

    1. Denies access for both my daughters' notebooks (2 specific MAC addresses) between Midnight-10AM Sat&Sun.

    2. Denies access for Jackie's MAC address between Midnight-5AM Mon thru Fri (Having access denied from PM until AM didn't work).

    3. Denies access for Jackie's MAC address between 10PM-Midnight (11:55PM because running past Midnight didn't work...workaround).

    4. Denies access for Sarah's MAC address between Midnight-7AM Mon thru Fri (Having access denied from PM until AM didn't work).

    5. Denies access for Sarah's MAC address between 9:30PM-Midnight (11:55PM cutoff...same workaround as 3.)

    6. Denies access for Jackie's MAC (Only enabled when she is being denied internet privlages).

    7. Denies access for Sarah's MAC (Again, only enabled when she is being punished).

The above works perfect for me with my family but your situation probably differs. Something with the WRT54GS rolling the deny access time from a PM at night until a AM in the morning just didn't work and would still allow access via their MAC so thats why these time have been split. Not sure how you would go about blocking the specific AIM ports. If they are anything like my kids, they would just switch to MSN Messenger to get around the policy anyways! :thumb:
