I have a modem with webinterface connected to the WRT54GS (standard firmware). Without the router it is possible to acess the modem webinterface. But with the router connected it is no longer possible to access this webinterface. Is it possible to set some route so I can access both modem and router webinterface?

    What modem is it?

What IP address is it on?

What IP range are you using on your local LAN?

The Zyxel 642R is a one port ADSL modem/router. It has a DHCP server. You can connect through the serial port and use Telenet to configure the router/modem.

Which is the gateway the Zyxel ot the WRT54G?

Do you have the Zyxel 642R setup in bridge mode with the DHCP server disabled and do you have the WRT54GS setup to handle the PPOE logon or do you have the Zyxel 642R set up to handle the PPOE. DHCP server enabled and the WRT54G set to DHCP client with the DHCP server disabled on the WRT54G?

As for web access, that would be difficult, since it has only one Ethernet Port.

Try this, if you assigned a static ip address to your computer and designated your computer as a DMZ, whether you could access the Zyxel by its IP address and you can turn off the NAT
