Accessing my Tomato DLNA Server from outside?

    Hello everyone,

I have the latest Victek's build (RAF1.28.8950 MIPSR2) onto my RT-N16 and currently messing with DLNA/Media Server feature of Tomato.

I am a complete noob when it comes to DLNA. So, I'm wondering whether I can somehow reach my DLNA server from outside. What ports do I have to forward? Is there any way to password protect it? etc...

DLNA is very much a LAN protocol/technology, relying on broadcast. It is not suitable for use for streaming across the Internet.

Oh, :( I see. I thought I could stream from my router where-ever in the world I would be.

May be with DLNA 2.0 :)
