I've done some searching, & I'm sorry to say I'm a little confused..

    Is anyone running ad/malware blocking successfully with latest firmware v1.28.9054 MIPSR2-beta K26 USB vpn3.6 ? (I have a wnr3500l)

It looks like there have been several different approaches too, & if poss I'd like to use one that won't break as I upgrade (in the future), won't give port redirection/certificate errors, & will maybe/hopefully work with ipv6..

    Any ideas? Thanks guys..

Did you try the one on TomatoUSB website ?
Or the one in my sig ?

haven't tried either yet, just dusted off & upgraded my trusty old WRT54G-tm to test with.. which one you think I should try?

Sure. There's a bug in the (well-documented as buggy and incomplete) IPv6 handling in cutting-edge, unreleased git code. Surprised?

ok, so i'm giving your script a shot (linked from your sig - srouquette).. will let you know if i run into any issues..

btw - does anyone know if ad-blocking will make it into the k26 beta firmware by default - maybe with a web based admin page to show stats, etc? (would be cool)

    thanks

I can't imagine ad-blocking ever being a part of out-of-the-box Tomato. Too many varied and subject-to-disappearance external dependencies, too much resource usage (RAM, at least), too many whitelisting/blacklisting variations...in short, no, I wouldn't expect it.

has anyone built any custom admin templates/themes to show stats?

about pixelserv, no one force you to use it, adblock works fine without it.
pixelserv is the icing on the cake :)

Hou do i put more then one "white list" in the list ?

    With a "," ?

    WHITE="sites.google.com, intel.com" ?

I went the whole hog.. ad-block + pixelserv.. working well so far! haven't seen any performance issues, but, would really like some browser-based web stats (so I can see what it's blocking, maybe even an option to whitelist from the active/logged block list)

anyone know how the web monitoring data interacts with ad-block+pixelserv? ie; if a site gets 'blocked' would it still show in the web monitor log?
(btw-thanks to all who make tomato what it is)

yep, mstombs added a code to log how many sites pixelserv returned a pixel.
type this command in a console: kill -SIGUSR1 $(pidof pixelserv)
    look at your log.

any idea how i can tell what the errors are?

    daemon.info pixelserv[761]: 7020 requests, 121 errors, 1 bad, 4582 gif, 2316 txt replies

This version of pixelserv "parses" the request, it counts error if there is no request (within 2 seconds of opening the connection) or a failure in sending a reply i.e the connection is closed. A bad request is when the keyword is not "GET". You have to recompile with VERBOSE set to get more info - but don't worry your stats are normal - pretty likely it wasn't an image request, so no reply was the best action.

Have you tried spaces lately? I did a month or so back and it didn't seem to work, had to cr/lf each domain, then it worked.
