    Hi everyone

I'm new to this board, have the wrt45g for just a week now. And I really like the DD-WRT firmware. Great work :)
But I have one question if this is possible, i've searched the board but found no answer.

Is it possible to add hostnames to IP or MAC adresses inside the LAN ?
For example: My dvb reciever has the ip "192.168.0.222" and i want to access it with my browser by typing "dbox" in the adress-bar.

I've tried it with the dhcpd options in the firmware... but it doesnt work. Maybe because my dvb reciever uses a fixed ip and dont get the ip by dhcp.

I'm a newbie to linux so i dont know how it could be possible to add this via the console.

    greets
    Splat

    thank you.
I forgot to set a local domain :)

I've set the domain to "LAN" and now I have to type "dbox.lan" to access the clients.

Is it possible to enable it without a local domain ?

I might be wrong but IP configuration in Windows allows to specify a default DNS domain name. It would be added automatically to all names.
