    Hello All,
I'm currently using a proxy system for access restriction of several locations within our organization. The system is growing incredibly slow. All my locations have WRT54G's in place so i was hoping that i could use them for acces restriction. The problem i am running into is that i need to block all urls BUT 2 or three. In other words, provide internet acces to only certain urls. I can't seem to find any firmware version to allow me to do this feature. Is there a way to do this with my WRT54G?

Don't know if anything will do this in the GUI, but you can go to a command line of a custom firmware and firewall all access to port 80 except for the IPs of the 2 or 3 sites users are allowed to access.

If i was going to be the one to maintain them, that would work great, but My boss needs to be able to control this so i need a GUI solution...hopefully there is one somewhere...

I've seen a few people ask for this and never a answer... Whitelisting isn't that popular an option for most people so I doubt anyone would bother to implement it... It would be possible with a bit of trickery and programming to have some sort of centralized web based management that served up a firewall file the routers would download every hour or every day or something... it would take a bit of work, but it's doable...

Or you could buy business class routers that are built for a corporate environment and they would implement whitelisting natively... But I highly doubt your going to find a firmware that will work for you on this... good luck though.
