I'd like to know what your secret is. I've had 3 reboots since I put on the latest AT, but with DD-WRT, I' have weeks of uptime

Honestly you are the only one that reported reboots. I never had an issue aether running lots of different routers and firmwares.

Am I being dense or did CIFS disappear in this release? Flashed Big VPN version and I don't see it anywhere.

I have to manually reboot it, but my indicator is that it drops the wired connection

    @srwal

I have had problems with stability on an E4200v1. The issue has been that the DNS fails - I need to spend more time looking into it. I used to have to reboot frequently when using Transmission (torrent, installed on a NAS not the router) which I think flooded the connection. Since switching to rtorrent I have to reboot about once a month.

I have exact the same issue, I'm literally throwing router to the wall :/ there must be issue in latest update from shibby because this no longer makes sense. I rebooted router 3x, rebooted DNSMASQ and nothing helps. I even set manually DNS on PC and remove restrictions on router and still no go. This is the weirdest issue ever. Not to mention no logs about it.

P.S.: Found out the issue was ISP's modem/router unit connecting to my router, resting that for 5min fixed all issues.

I guess that was my issue. Anyway around having to reboot anything?

  11. Jacky444

Funny was that rebooting my RT-N66U didn't help, once I rebooted ISP's modem/router it worked. Its a strange issue. I did flash older firmware to try if that helps but it didn't. This issue must be related to our ISP's.

I'm in China so to avoid DNS poisoning I have to use other DNS providers like OpenDNS via VPN to obtain the correct IP for domains like "facebook.com" and "twitter.com". But doing so to resolve domains that belongs to China, it slows things down dramatically. I always did include a conf that I wrote to exclude some domains to use my ISP's NS server instead of OpenDNS, so I can get fast access speeds to domestic websites, like this:

    server=/weibo.com/202.96.134.133
    server=/baidu.com/202.96.134.133

However, the latest update seems to break this functionality. Whenever I try to include my own config, dnsmasq refuses to resolve the domains I defined in my config. Even if I do 'nslookup domain.com 202.96.134.133', it fails to resolve the domain.

The latest AT seems to be using dnsmasq 2.67.. and after looking at the latest dnsmasq changelog:

    Code:
    version 2.68
Use random addresses for DHCPv6 temporary address
allocations, instead of algorithmically determined stable
            addresses.

Fix bug which meant that the DHCPv6 DUID was not available
in DHCP script runs during the lifetime of the dnsmasq
process which created the DUID de-novo. Once the DUID was
created and stored in the lease file and dnsmasq
            restarted, this bug disappeared.

Fix bug introduced in 2.67 which could result in erroneous
            NXDOMAIN returns to CNAME queries.

Fix build failures on MacOS X and openBSD.

Allow subnet specifications in --auth-zone to be interface
names as well as address literals. This makes it possible
to configure authoritative DNS when local address ranges
are dynamic and works much better than the previous
work-around which exempted contructed DHCP ranges from the
IP address filtering. As a consequence, that work-around
is removed. Under certain circumstances, this change wil
break existing configuration: if you're relying on the
contructed-range exception, you need to change --auth-zone
to specify the same interface as is used to construct your
DHCP ranges, probably with a trailing "/6" like this:
--auth-zone=example.com,eth0/6 to limit the addresses to
            IPv6 addresses of eth0.

Fix problems when advertising deleted IPv6 prefixes. If
the prefix is deleted (rather than replaced), it doesn't
get advertised with zero preferred time. Thanks to Tsachi
            for the bug report.

Fix segfault with some locally configured CNAMEs. Thanks
to Andrew Childs for spotting the problem.

Fix memory leak on re-reading /etc/hosts and friends,
            introduced in 2.67.

Check the arrival interface of incoming DNS and TFTP
requests via IPv6, even in --bind-interfaces mode. This
isn't possible for IPv4 and can generate scary warnings,
but as it's always possible for IPv6 (the API always
exists) then we should do it always.

Tweak the rules on prefix-lengths in --dhcp-range for
IPv6. The new rule is that the specified prefix length
must be larger than or equal to the prefix length of the
corresponding address on the local interface.
This particular bug fix interests me:

    Code:
Fix bug introduced in 2.67 which could result in erroneous
    NXDOMAIN returns to CNAME queries.
I'm guessing this might be the culprit that caused the DNS issue.

Changed GUI handling, added Ajax for each page load (offload router bit further) added system info and change log goes on and on (stopped writing it). There will defiantly be beta releases in next few weeks.

See screenshot bellow on how devices list looks like (note: styles are still subject to change):

If you have any extra ideas etc.. let me know! Also note that if I will be able I will add background change for connected devices, but don't hope too much no idea if I'm able to get that data from tomato.

    Hey Jaka,

Is this the new theme you're going with at the following address:

    http://at.prahec.com/v2/

    If so, it's awesome!

I just installed your 1.16.15 version for my e3000 and I get the following error when attempting to enable wireless interference mitigation:

The field "wl_mitigation" is invalid. I used firefox + firebug to change the selection tag's name attribute from "wl_mitigation" to "wl mitigation" and it saved and worked... sooooo maybe just a slight issue with the base theme files.

Also, on the status page with the left navigation, I get the following graphic/text alignment errorr for the LAN icons (personally, I think the lan icons could be nicer given the rest of the theme is stellar, but that's just me being a GUI designer :-P ).

Different background for connected device would be nice...or at least show connected device in separated window or sort them on the top...

How much extra space would be needed for your new theme? (In compare with stock shibby)

  40. Jacky444

    Jacky444 Addicted to LI Member

I will change icons for Eth ports states to some cool vector based ones. No worries ;).
GUI is already at last steeps before ready to release into BETA stage. I fixed some issues, made new ones already know about some which will be fixed before official release.

New GUI sort of isn't theme anymore. Its full make over including adding of some "GUI" based features.
But anyway its about 100-150kb larger maybe even less. I can't compare it like that because Shibby's source code is already a little stripped of white spaces and comments while mine is fully commented and lots of white spaces which produce at least 100kb and more. ;)

Okay, I'm releasing a BETA version of AdvancedTomato 1.20.15.
I'm hoping that once Shibby updates GIT to 116 all issues in new interface will be fixed.
I tried to fix as many as possible but I'm sure there is many more. Let me know how the testing goes.

For now here are N66U, AC66U and RT-N16 Beta files:
    http://at.prahec.com/files/?browse=BETA 1.20.15/

Checksums are in the folder ;)

    Change Log:

    Code:
    Update (1.20.15 BETA):
    - Fixed issue when you click IP Traffic Graphs it filters wrong IP Address
    - Fixed issue with weird "refresher" behavior on some pages

Update (1.19.15 BETA - no release):
    - Full interface re-design
    - GUI uses ajax to load pages now
    - Archived Image-less design (Icons, Logo etc is now pure Vector format (retina, mobile, tablet displays love it!))
    - Added System box dropdown on right top side of page (shows most important data on any page)
    - Added custom font to router it self, only WOFF format though might render poorly in some browsers (Open Sans <3)
    - Added preloader for each page which follows mouse movements
    - Added option to limit FLUID design into specific pixels width ("nvram set at_width=1920" allows any custom size)
    - Fixed a lot of issues, didn't keep track of all
    - Fixed a lot of design/style rendering issues
    - Fixed issue with BW & IP Traffic page that show incorrect network speeds
    - Graphs are now transparent (might be good for different designs, will play with it fourther in future releases)
    - Removed Dedicated Mobile page (Sorry if you used it =( )
    - Removed Spin.gif (Pure CSS preloader now (can be styled using css!))
    - Removed all image files (see above archivement log)
    - Removed option to change navigation style (No more dropdowns =( )
    - Also a lot of other unwritten changes ;)

    Hello from Sweden

Can you please include everything from shibbys source.

cdc_ncm is missing in your build and it's needed for high speed LTE and Huawei E3276.

Your GUI is just beautiful! :)

    Thanks!

The issue was crappy scheduler haha! I had enabled disable full WAN at 12pm till 3am. =/ silly me. Disabling fixed all my issues.

I always include entire source without modifying source files. So there is no way I could lose something.
I really don't know why cdc_ncm is missing. But Shibby's mod is fully cloned and I just replace few files with new data (nothing connected to modules, addons and stuff that are handled by router it self)

    And thank you!

I am having a rather weird issue. Installed the beta on my Asus last night (RT-AC66U), and for some reason I can't save any settings on Basic Network page. The button is clickable, but does not execute any save command for all I can tell.

On bussines-trip right now so I am not able to test anything for the moment, but wanted to give a short info-message. Anyone else encountered the same?

Tested to clear nvram and with two different computers...

Didn't have time to test so many pages, but the only other issue was with portforwarding. After saving the browser couldn't render the GUI correctly, and I needed to refresh the page for it to work. The data was however saved correct.

I am back at home on friday, will attach printscreen then. Until then my general impression will have to suffice, loving the GUI!! :)

I did have some time today to via remote http administrate the GUI. The same "error" occur. I enabled "JavaScript console" (browser is Comodo Dragon), and get the following message when I click the "Save" button.

    Code:
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot set property 'value' of undefined VM218:1392
    save VM218:1392
    onclick (index):1
The other problem I've encountered as earlier mentioned, is with the page "Basic Forwarding". After I click "Save" the following page will present itself (see attached image). I can also add that I recalled wrong regarding me therafter "reloading" the page. This was useless.. I needed to edit the URL to the main-adress for it to refresh at all. The following code presents according to JavaScript Console:

    Code:
Uncaught ReferenceError: TomatoGrid is not defined forward-basic.asp:20
    (anonymous function) forward-basic.asp:20
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'setup' of undefined forward-basic.asp:159
    (anonymous function) forward-basic.asp:159
Uncaught ReferenceError: show_notice1 is not defined forward-basic.asp:172

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method 'recolor' of undefined forward-basic.asp:149
    init forward-basic.asp:149
    (anonymous function) forward-basic.asp:176
Any more information I need to get?

Hmm no thanks this is all I needed. This gui issue is because you're accessing page directly. Since I changed every thing to ajax this shouldn't be going through direct links but all through status-overview.asp

So try this: instead of /forward-basic.asp try /#forward-basic.asp
Guess the issue is redirect after save. It goes to wrong link. I have to fix those save links but I'm already through compilation =/... Gosh! haha. I'll fix and recompile all images all over again =/

    Thanks for report anyway :p

Hey Jacky444, I've noticed a small bug in your release for e3200 1.15. When I make multiple successive saves to the bandwidth limiter settings, the internet stops working and I have to press the renew button on the overview page for it to work again. I'm using the newest version of firefox.

I can confirm that /#forward-basic.asp works if I manually enter the adress after a save on Basic Forwarding. :)

I did however not really understand if I needed to do some other thing for the "Save"-button on Basic Settings to work? Did I miss something?

Please if you require 100% stable interface please do not upgrade to this version. It could still contain bugs I did not find! If you don't mind taking little risk, go ahead and flash it!

Please also note there is big change in image sizes, some routers are not made for this big firmware. Flash by caution!

P.S.: Another important note: Old ATTD themes are NOT compatible with new 1.2 version!

    jacky -
    beautiful build.
    upgraded wrt150n, fd7301, and e4200v1.
only problem so far: can't restore rstats (i reported this before - has anyone else tried?)
    thankss!
edit: the restore problem occurs with chrome, but is ok with ie11. however, viewing the bandwidth graphs did not work in ie11, but did work with chrome.

Might wanna add Big-VPN to that list... :D
Failed flashing "tomato-K26USB-1.28.AT-RT-N5x-MIPSR2-1.20.16-Big-VPN" into ASUS RT-N15U...
VPN version works fine, must be a very tight fit... :(

    Flashed tomato-K26USB-1.28.AT-RT-N5x-MIPSR2-1.20.16-AIO.trx to ASUS RT-N16.

Only thing I've noticed is that on Basic -> DDNS, there's no Save or Cancel buttons. I tried various different options on the page to see if maybe it was just a combination of the settings I wanted, but it doesn't appear to be.

    Seems awesome other than that!

*edit* I was previously running Toastman, so I restored the firmware, and my configuration, then got the DDNS settings from "nvram show | grep ddns", then re-flashed your firmware and made the changes using "nvram set" and "nvram commit". All is good now :)

Totally forgot about that one :) Will try to fix it in next release. Already on To do list :).
Edit*: BW Graphs I used embed code for HTML5 which should work in IE11 that's interesting. I will give it a test see why it doesn't work. But guess its another IE bs html5 thing.

Sorry yeah new GUI is quite larger than usual its because of jQuery library and fonts (icons/opensans). I'm still thinking about a way around it.

Very happy you got it working and thanks for sharing how !!!

You might be able to use the Zepto library to save space, AFAIK it's jQuery compatible and designed to be more lightweight :)

I used to use zepto but had some issues so sort of stopped using it. I also used custom compiled jquery for AT 1.16 and bellow but with Ajax on new UI it started giving me issues.

I have tried to flash my ASUS RT-N12 D1 with Advanced tomato-K26-1.28.AT-RT-MIPSR2-1.20.16-MiniVPN.trx. After going thru the flashing procedure, I only get destination host unreachable or ping timeout.
Then I flashed it with Shibby tomato-K26-1.28.RT-N5x-MIPSR2-116-MiniVPN.trx, and everything works fine.
    Any ideas?

Using new firmware, i'm hoping it doesn't have the reboot issue. Also, I cant save the Basic -> DDNS settings.

Also, no matter what I choose for the TomatoAnon page, the banner doesn't disapper, still says I need to make a choice.

    *Fingers crossed*.

    Hi Jacky,

I'm using "tomato-RT-N66U_AT-RT-AC6x-1.20.16-AIO-64K" on RT-N66U and found the following errors so far:

    - in BASIC SETTINGS/DDNS the buttons "SAVE and CANCEL" are missing.
    - in USB & NAS/USB SUPPORT, if I uncheck "SD/MMC Card Support" and then click the SAVE button, it's not saved.

    Can you fix these errors?

    Otherwise everything is O.K.

    Thanks for this wonderful interface.

I'm currently on 1.16.15 K26 Max on my E2000 router and was looking into upgrading as the new changes look nice. Should I hold off until more issues are fixed or would it be OK to update now?

Also, whats the difference between the MAX edition and the IPv6 VPN build?

Hi. Thanks for the new version, your UI is amazing. I have a problem though. If on my router i disable the ports state then in the status page i can't see anything but an error :

    ERROR TypeError: etherstates.port1 is undefined
Something went wrong, if interface became unresponsible please refresh browser window.

And also, i have installed the mini version on another mini router i have (wl330ge) with 1 port only, and since it has WAN disabled by default, on the routing page i get this error:

    ERROR TypeError: E(...) is null
Something went wrong, if interface became unresponsible please refresh browser window.

    Thanks again.!

Great ui and thanks for the system panel, though, I'm waiting the reconnect button yet. ;)
I'd choose a darker color for fonts and remove text "Loading, please wait..." from the pointer when waiting.

Thank you every one for the feedback! I will look into issues and fix them!
Also uboot I will see because no text makes loading bit weird :p I'll see might find some alternative!

Fonts etc can be easly styled using CSS (Extra ATTD themes coming out as soon as I get some free time!)
That reconnect haha :D I'll check if I can implement it but issues r first priority now!

Some links are broken and don't take you to the correct page in the new GUI.

For example, in "Status -> Logs"

The ">> Logging Configuration" link takes you to admin-log.asp instead of #admin-log.asp (shows up as a white page with only "Web Monitor" header and Save/Cancel buttons.

Might be some other places where this happens as well.

Hey Jacky444, I just flashed a brand new e2500v2 with advancedtomato using tomato-E2500-NVRAM60K-1.28.AT-RT-N5x-MIPSR2-1.20.16-Max.bin since people said there is no difference between v1 and v2. However, I noticed the JFFS size is rather small ~800-900kb- is this normal or an incompatibility issue with e2500v2?

I also just want to say I'm a huge fan of your work and especially the new webgui!

Mobile page was removed in new UI. You can switch back to older 1.16.15 to get mobile page back.

P.S.: Working on fixing issues posted above and some I got on email!

Not enough space on router and new UI is supposed to adapt enough small devices to fit your iphone too. Also most new mobile devices have 4.5 inch + displays and this UI already fits my Xperia T 4.3 inch.

Great, thanks. It's almost perfect on the iPhone 5s. Only the font of the text below "Router Control" is too big. I'd personally remove the whole text there and just leave the 3 buttons...

Oh didin't look like that on my browser :p. Its easy to remove that just open the asp file in text editor and find the text and delete it :D easy. I'll upload file that fixes the size.

I would like to announce new update release 1.21.16. I hope I fixed most major bugs (the one with routing page is still there, couldn't figure out it yet).

    Change log:
    Code:
    - Fixed lots of redirect URL's (Like vpn-server (start/stop))
    - Fixed issue which didn't allow to restore rstats in Chrome
    - Fixed issue where Save/Reset buttons were deleted on basic-ddns
    - Fixed issue where ethstates were undefined (Didn't test but should work)
    - Fixed issue with IE9 saying "ERROR TypeError: Object doesn't support property or method 'pushState'"
    - Changed error GUI handler
    - Few other cosmetic fixes
    - On Devices List page links bellow devices are now buttons
Note: IE9 is still bugged, doesn't support SVG embeds (no graphs, no logo etc... sux :=(, IE support might be dropped)

Would you say the new version is usable as a daily driver yet? I only ask as you mentioned last time that people should wait before upgrading...

I can't make image for every router there is soo many and some don't have 4 lan ports and one wan. It is not that easy :)

I'm aware of only one bug left which renders routing page useless but only on few older routers. So my belief is that its safe enough :)

When I'm at the bottom of the page and I click on anything on the menu doesn't move me to the top of the page. Is this correct behavior? Also is it possible to hide system tooltip (info when i click on "system") when click anywhere in the site?

  94. Jacky444

    Jacky444 Addicted to LI Member

Both behaviors are normal. And System can't hide automatically because its coded that way. I tried using focus event but its totally broken on multiple browsers/devices so I changed to toggle mode. (focus is what you've described)

    Couldn't agree more BTW!

Just a question, how well does Tomato handle updates? I always do a fresh install (just used to it I suppose), is there any harm in doing an update?

  97. Theo16

    Theo16 Reformed Router Member

Is it possible to move to the top of the page automatically ? It's annoying to do that manually. How about "X" button that close this tooltip? I do not know about anyone else but I'm always looking for "X" button to close something :) .

Just switched over from a Merlin build of the stock Asus firmware for my RT-N66U. What an improvement. So thankful this exists.

So far I've only run into one problem, which is with the BitTorrent client (Transmission).

When I assign it security it constantly prompts me for the password. I've changed it multiple times, but it never accepts it. I can use the client just find when security is not enabled, but I don't want to do this for obvious reasons.

Any suggestions on how to get this to work?

    Thanks!

Hi, i tried the latest version on N66U but i have problems with automatic refresh every N seconds.
For example in IP Traffic --> "Transfer rates" if i click on "refresh" after 2-3 seconds it stop.

Is there a way to give connected wired or wireless devices nicknames, without giving the a static IP? I tried this in the basic-static.asp page, but it won't let me.
