I'm pretty new to the wireless scene and I was wondering if I could get some advice in choosing a wireless adapter to go with my tomato-flashed-WRT54GL.

I'm using a vista desktop primarily for gaming, and I'm looking for something reliable that will work with all the good stuff like wpa2, aes, afterburner, etc.

    Any suggestions?

How about another gl running Tomato? You connect via CAT5 so there are no driver or OS issues.

Does this mean that my PC will get 1/2 bandwidth? Or is that only for devices using the 2nd router as an AP?

No, not if it is just used as a client radio and does not double as an AP.

As long as the second router's radio doesn't have to relay wireless traffic to the primary router, you are fine.

I like the idea too. You can see I'm using it. :)
