    Hi, all !
    I have currently a WRT54GS 1.1 router with alchemy 1.0 firmware.
Actually, I'm intersted by the VPN server that this firmware proposes
But I have a problem : the server is correctly configured and I can join it by the LAN (192.168.1.1) on the windows XP client. But by the WAN, when a friend or me want to join the PPTP server (on my ISP ip), it doesn't work and the client return an "error 800".
I have already deselected "use default gateway" in the TCP/IP client properties.
Of course the VPN passthrough are enabled and the loopback is disabled.
    What I've missed ?

I have an other question too : is an other PPTP client that windows' one works with the router PPTP server ?

actually....try disabling VPN passthrough. That might just be your problem. You see, VPN pass through is used to pass VPN traffic to INTERNAL VPN Server but this case, your WRT is the server so you should not use the pass through. MAke sense?

Yes, VPN passthrough is only useful for connecting to a VPN server in your LAN and not for the VPN server on the WRT54G.

Try disabling VPN passthrough as suggested by cgondo.

And then you'll have to explicitely open the VPN port to the internet. Afaik this can't be done in the webinterface by forwarding the VPN port to the router itself.
Instead you have to logon to the router with SSH or Telnet and run the command

    /usr/sbin/iptables -I INPUT 1 --dport 1723 -j logaccept

for redirecting the VPN port to the router. 1723 is the standard VPN port, isn't it???
