All (4) PCs suddenly unable to access the setup page

I bought a WRT54G V5 wireless router in Feb to setup a home network. 2 PCs using cat5 cable and the other 2 are wireless, all are running WInXP Pro SP2. Everything is perfect. accessing the setup page, Seting up, broadband internet sharing, files sharing are all excellent. Last week I found out that the setup webpage ( of the router is SUDDENLY inaccessible on all 4 PCs. I get a blank page after entering the username/password. Sometimes I even don't get the login dialog but have "page cannot be loaded" or "connection time out". All I remember is that a few weeks ago I successfully upgraded the firmware to the most recent one. Will this cause the problem? Is there any other way to the page again? I tryied telnet to the router and got "could not open connection to the host, on port 23: connection failed".

I am reluctant to reset the router because if it is still unable to get the setup page after reseting all my setup would be gone and could be modified. I don't want to lost it.

    Please help.

    Thank you!!

you may need to reset the router. Linksys do recommend when upgrading the router to press the reset button to reset the router.

older v1-v4 are usually 30 seconds, however the New v5's thats puts them into flash mode. pressing the reset buttom between 5 and 10 seconds should reset the router on a v5 unit.

    Thank you!

After reset the router will all the custom settings be lost (reverted back to defaults)? Should i re-enter them again?

yes resetting the router will loose all the settings, and some input will be required again. i know this is a pain in the arse, but sometime things have to be tried to make sure nothing else is affecting the router.
