I have a WRT54G and a wrt160n both 12v. I want to add a cooling fan 12v .83a. I read that that will take the linksys power supplies to the max. I also read that Linksys routers will take up to 18volts. I'd like to adapt a couple of laptops power supplies I have to run the routers. The connectors are different so I'll just solder the power supplies directly to the router boards, also the fan wires One power supply is 16v 4.5a the other 15v 5a. Anyone see any problems with this I'd like some more input before I try this. Also will the fans be able to handle the extra voltage?
