Another QuickVPN question.....

Hi all, just purchased the RV082 and am using the QuickVPN. Seems to work out of the box and am able to connect using the QuickVPN software and also am able to use the PPTP built into my WinXP Pro. My issue is that once I've made the tunnel with QVPN, I cannot ping or ip into any machine on the network. Only thing I can do is open up the RV082 control panel. I can however use remote desktop and remote control machines. Also, if I use PPTP instead, I'm able to ip into a machine using the run command but not with QVPN. Now my question is: Why is that?? I'm going to modify the lmhost tomorrow so I don't have to type in the ip but a machine name instead but would like to use the QVPN instead of PPTP. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA, Dave.

What version of QuickVPN are you using, what OS and are you running a firewall?

I'm using the QVPN ver 1.0.38 downloaded from the linksys website. Using WXP pro with firewall turned off. Like I mentioned above, its a bit frustating that I'm in but really can't do anything on the network other than remote desktop. Would like to be able to run network apps and files like I was at work. Thanks in advance, Dave.

If remote desktop works then the VPN part must be Ok. Are the PC's your trying to connect to at the other end running firewalls?

No firewall on any machine as I've made sure to turn it off on both sides. Yes, I'm trying to use QVPN from home to a machine at work. Said before, using PPTP, I'm able to do a run command and type in either the ip or machine name (did the lmhost) and I can get connected. However, using QVPN, no connections other than remote desktop (or getting to the RV082). That just doesnt seem right? I've seen other post with almost exact problems but no answers are posted, just more people having the same issue. Can you help?? Thanks, Dave.
