Another WPS54G Printing Problem

When I purchased the WPS54G, I had a HP Photosmart 1115 installed locally on a desktop, and the driver for it installed on 2 wifi laptops. It was set up for sharing and all worked fine, provided desktop was up and running. Then I installed the WPS54G and did all that was required and all worked. I still don't know if I was printing wirelessly or wired (have a wireless router). But at least desktop could be OFF and HP 1115 could be OFF, and laptops could print ok (after, I assume, the WPS54G fired up the printer).

Then, of course, the 1115 printer exploded. So I replaced the printer with a 7760v (HP), and finally all is back up, EXCEPT now the 7760v MUST be powered up at all times. The print server will not turn it on. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!

C'mon, this can't be right. Linksys is blowing me off, saying it has nothing to do with them, must be the printer. I plug that printer (7760v) into a USB 1.1 port on a 5 year old computer, and the thing powers on if it's off when I print something. Now they're saying their print server doesn't do that stuff. Excuse me, but it did with another USB printer (1115) less than 7 days ago.

Sounds to me like this new HP has a different Power On trigger. Do you need to go into the printer driver and send a command to enable Auto Power-on?
