Anyone using NetStumbler 0.4 and xp wireless zero config?

    After running NetStumbler for a few minutes I get another detection entry on my router's SSID, but this 2nd entry has slightly different info:

    MAC = 00000000000000
    Vendor = (Fake)

    in the 1st entry, Vendor = Linksys

    All other info is identical to the original entry for my router or not displayed at all.

    Anyone experiencing the same behaviour from NetStumber? Thanks.

    I am having the same problem as you're mentioning below. Did anyone figure out why this was occurring?

    Netstumbler problem

    Esquire:

    We use Netstumbler in the field for site survey work. :D And yes, we have the same problem with v0.4. Seems to be a quirk when receiving a timed beacon from an AP. The anomoly appears to occur more often with "el cheapo" retail AP's like low end Netgear and obscure brands. We also find that this is less likely to happen depending on your Wi-Fi card chipset. My field laptop has a mini-PCI card with the Broadcom chipset and rarely encounters this problem. One of our techs has a Centrino based laptop and has run into the problem more often.
