Applied HyperWRT firmware to my WRT54G...

Had a power outage some weeks later due to some neighbours doing construction work and now my router is a brick.

So much so that it is now just a switch with no IP address on it (could not assign one via arp either) and nothing else happening on it except that the power light is flashing and the WAN and LAN lights are on if I connect Ethernet UTP cables to them. Rebooting and all possible permutations with the reset key have not helped. It appears my router is softwareless.

Any clues as to what to do?
Without an IP address I am guessing my only option is a JTAG cable.
    Any other ideas?

    Point I should note.
After the firmware update things were going well until the power outage some weeks later.
This is not a firmware issue; it's a how do I recover a brisk issue. :)
    Cheers,
    Brett.
