Just wondering how to go from dd-wrt to tomato. Will the .trx file work from dd-wrt?
I didn't try (many year with Tomato... ) in any case replace the .trx suffix by .bin and should work.
I find it VERY helpful to do a hard reset before going to Tomato. Like Victek said, rename the .trx to .bin.
Also, check out Teddy_Bear's mod, which will allow you to take advantage of your usb port.
easiest way is to use asus firmware restoration utility. i've used dd-wrt on my asus wl-520gu up until the wireless issues with tomato was resolved.
Read the guide from http://www.polarcloud.com/tomato so you are sure to take note of the password since the pwd is encrypted differently from the std. tomato
you can at the upgrade tab in dd-wrt select restore defaults after flash and point it to the tomato update file.
I didn't bother flashing my recently bought Asus WL-520GU with DD-WRT. I went straight to flashing it with Tomato. I used the instructions here.
