    Hi all
I am running "Tomato Firmware 1.28.0000 MIPSR2-104 K26 USB AIO-64K" Shibby on this Router but once or twice a day I loose WL Connections to some or all of devices and then I have to reboot my Router and these device connect without any problem afterwards. The devices are a combination of IPOD, Laptop (windows 7) Android TAB. The deviced connected with a cable CAT5 are fine all the time and never loose any connection. I tested this Router on Merlin FM and ran for a week without any problem.... SO Router seems OK HW wise....Any idea....Please advice
Thanks all for replying in advance

Sorry, I had no intension of typing it like that as you can see I started off without bold. I guess when I entered quotation at that point it changed to Bold and then I noticed it after I posted. I tried editing it but unable to find a way to edit it back to normal. If anyone can point me to the direction how to unbold it I will gladly do that and I apologize again......

OK, so I upgraded to "Tomato Firmware 1.28.0000 MIPSR2-105 K26 USB AIO-64K" and I will check and let you guys know of the outcome but one problem I see right now and that is if I go "Access and Restriction" TAB I see this error message on that page "iptables-restore: line 54 failed"..... and my Access and Restriction is not working and this message remains there.. I have used Buffalo Router in the past and even this 66U with 104 Shibby but never got this message on any of the Routers and FM.....I did clear the NVRAM after the upgrade....
I have used this feature before and works beautifully with "F" words and the Nasty Web sites but its not working any more and this is very important feature for me to work.....
    Thanks in advance

Reboot your roter after config, and have you config by hand and not restore from config file ?

I entered all setting manually from scratch........But I never rebooted my Router. So after your response I turned off my Router and restarted after a while and all good now... No errors what so ever and my Access and restiction is running as normal......
Thank you for a quick reply...Appriciated.......

Try different channels, may be interference. I ran 104 without issue from the day it came out till 105 came out. now on day 13 and still no issues.

When your devices can't connect to the router wirelessly, what does it list for "Interference level" on your wireless interfaces? You'll have to check from an ethernet-connected system, obviously. The only time I've seen this is when someone close by sets up a device that clobbers my wireless connectivity on the channel used by the router. If you left Tomato at the default channel selection (Auto) then rebooting the router it should - in theory - choose a different channel without interference.

Another thing to look at is whether you're using 40Mhz channels on 2.4Ghz. If you live in an apartment, condo, townhouse, or another iteration of multi-tenant building (or even a single tenant building where neighboring buildings aren't more than 5-10 feet away, like found in a large cities) you pretty much can't use 40Mhz channels in 2.4Ghz. 5Ghz is better about 40Mhz channels, since they don't travel as far, but you still need to be sure nobody is already/suddenly-starts using the channel you've selected if you're living in close proximity to others before opting for 40Mhz. The higher 5Ghz channels don't travel nearly as far as the lower channels, BTW, so if you can live with the distance limitations they're more likely to be free of interference.

I do wish Tomato wouldn't default to 40Mhz on 2.4.

It's my experience that "auto" is responsible for many problems, it often chooses the most congested channel, at other times it chooses a free channel between channels 1,6, and 11 and then proceeds to jam everyone on those channels as it can't decode their signals. Think about a scenario where half a dozen routers in a neighborhood all used "auto" - never a single day when anyone has a consistent signal and throughput with all 6 jumping channels - setting each other off, with no end.

I agree 100%. There should be 2 more category, N-only and perhaps acc-only...;)
