Everything good with this router using Tomato? Specifically Victek's version? I picked up a Netgear WNDR3700 v2 the other day and loaded latest firmware out of the box. I had the extremely slow page issue. And when making changes. It is very slow. I took it back. Got me a Linksys E3000. Tested to make sure it was working okay and loaded the latest Linksys firmware. Router was running fine BUT. It was very hot at the bottom. You could fry eggs with it. Apparently a common issue with that router. At the same time. A hit and miss which is why I took a chance purchasing it. Took that one back as well. 2 strikes against me. I have my eye on the Linksys E4200. But, I have been reading it is having its own problems atm according to people on the Linksys forums reporting their issues. With the price being at $179.99 I would not expect that many issues with it and some are serious. So.... It seems the Asus is the only 1 left? I am not reading very many issues with it? My only concern is flashing it brand new out of the box. Seems kinda tricky?

I have used many of the Tomato and DD-WRT builds but now am running stock firmware and having better performance and stability.

I haven't had mine for long but had no issues with it at all. Can't say it's the most beautiful router I've ever seen but functionally, with Tomato, it's excellent.

true and E4200 has internal antennas. RT-N16 has external.

    no one doesnt need dual-band

E4200 runs warm. Normal compared to the E3000. I did not trust it alone or when summer time comes around. Also heard the heat over time kills the router.

I picked up an RT-N16 a couple of weeks ago to replace a Linksys RV042 with mysterious issues. I had no problems going straight from the stock firmware to Teddy-Bear's mod. It runs perfectly and I am delighted to have 128MB of RAM.

N16 with Tomato runs for more than a year, cool and stable. I like it.

N16 runs great with latest Victek builds. Very stable and fast. Have compared speeds with stock firmware and Tomato. Were about the same when I last tested which was the latest stock firmware (1023). Currently running Victek beta RAF1.28.8905 MIPSR2_RAF K26 USB VPN without any issues. I did have wireless drop issues with TomatoUSB beta54.
Have been very happy with Tomato. Have also run DD-WRT but it seems to have issues, depending on the build you use they could effect you or not. Victek Tomato just works without any issues.
