Asus RT-N66U confusion regarding NVRAM size and which firmware package to use

I am confused over which Toastman build I should flash onto my RT-N66U. I current running tomato-K26USB-NVRAM64K-1.28.0502.8MIPSR2Toastman-RT-N-VLAN-Ext.trx on my RT-N66U and it is pretty stable. I'd like to update it to the new 1.28.0503 beta but based on Victek's comment in this thread, I am fearing that the "NVRAM64K" package might have been the wrong choice for this hardware.

    1) Is this the correct way to figure out the size of my NVRAM?

    Code:
    # nvram show | grep entries
1042 entries, 26118 bytes used, 39418 bytes free.

    26118+39418=65536

    2) Given the result from #1 above, can I safely use the "NVRAM64K" builds on this hardware?

My understanding is that yes, the method you're using is correct. However:

    1) Please wait for someone else to respond who has better familiarity with this than I do,

    2) You should know that the amount of NVRAM space is sometimes questionable given certain implementations of the CFE -- again, others can talk more about that in detail, I only understand it at a basic level.

Since I have been using the 64k version since July without issue, and since I audited the tomatoanon database by shibby and confirmed that a HUGE number of folks using my Asus model are indeed using his 64k build, I went ahead and flashed in toastman's 64k build I posted about above. Everything is copacetic under version 1.28.0503, nvram64k version.
