I have Tomato 1.28.0000 MIPSR2-112 K26 USB AIO-64K on my n66u. I am trying to connect my CLEAR Spot Voyager (a 3g usb modem) to the usb port for wan service. For some reason the router does not see the CLEAR Spot Voyager 3g usb. I went to the Basic Network setup page and selected 3g/modem and at the USB Support page I selected Core USB Support, then USB 3G Modem support. But the router does not respond. I know it is not a hardware problem because the router and the 3g usb modem connects when I have Asus or Merlin FW install on the n66u. Is there something I am over looking? Thanks.

I went back to the FW from Asus to see what drivers were being loaded when I plug in the 3g modem. Here is a short clip of the log:
usbcore: registered new interface driver cdc_ether
Dec 31 19:00:08 kernel: usbcore: registered new interface driver net1080
Dec 31 19:00:08 kernel: usbcore: registered new interface driver rndis_host
Dec 31 19:00:08 kernel: usbcore: registered new interface driver zaurus

I seem to recall that the driver rndis_host maybe needed for the 3g modem to work. For now I have not the skills to install drivers into source. Are there plans to add some of these drivers?

    [RELEASE] 114

These modules need to be started with "modprobe" put them in script INIT to get executed every reboot.

    update/add new 3G modem modules

    add modules:
    - cdc_ncm - as module in tomato
    - ipheth (iphone) - moved to extras
    - qmi_wwan - moved to extras

    update modules:
    - cdc_ether - as module in tomato
    - rndis_host - moved to extras
    - cdc-wdm - moved to extras
    - usbnet - as module in tomato

cdc_ether should detect new interface like eth3 or usb0. It will not works as 3g modem (ppp connection). In your example i dont see something like this. rndis_host module is available in extras.tar.gz file.

cdc_ether should find new interface like eth3 or usb0:

in you example i dont see it.
try other modules. As you can see, module rndis_host is in extras.

and this is it. Just extract it (tar zxvf extra....) and load module which you need (insmod /path/to/module.ko)

    Hello,
After loading the modules, how do I make the router use the usb device as WAN?
