what are the correct setting for azureus under dd wrt. i gave azureus to use port 49152. in the router i foward 49152 tcp 192.168.1.1 and 49152 upd 192.168.1.1 as well as 6881 tcp 192.168.1.1. but i am still firewall and have NAT problems. the downloads are yellow for not problems.

You need to forward the port to the static IP of your computer. Doing the way you have it you are forwarding to the router.

Setup your PC with a static IP and forward that port to that IP.

Also...try port 60,000 on azureus (often that port seems to be un unblock (free) by most providers...

reading more it also said to open this ports on the firewall. does the port mater or can pick any port. from my reading i see that people recomand using high number ports becuse there is nothing going on there.

just in case...try to verify the port on azureus...

Tools > NAT / Firewall Test...

    Further more... on DD-WRT

    Administration >
IP Filter Settings (adjust these for P2P)

    Maximum Ports: 4096
    TCP Timeout: 300
    UDP Timeout: 300

Those settings work perfectly with my ISP (Adelphia) That way, you will be able to surf/browse the internet without any problem while downloading torrents...

There is really no optimal setting... 90 90 / 300 300 will not work for many user ... is just a matter of softwares that you use and ISP settings.

but usually somewhere between the 90 - 600 should work just fine...
    take care everyone...

I didnt mean optimal as in everyone should use it. What I meant was that they are optimal for me.... I tried going higher but always end up at 90. Sorry for any misunderstanding.

Yes, works fine for me. Also run MSN, Yahoo, Teamspeak... My boys upstairs are on the XBox and PC. The one on the PC is playing WOW and talking on Vent or Teamspeak with Yahoo or AIM open. I am downstairs talking on Teamspeak and playing Call of Duty while downloading torrents.

I just went thru my AIM and didnt find any settings that would affect connection. Everything is at default.

I dont know what the problem would be.

I may have something similar going on, as I mentioned here. I have DD-WRT and Azureus configured properly, but it doesn't work properly. What happens in my case is that Azureus' ports are connectible at first, but then they get closed by the router for some bizarre reason.

    This is with a WRTSL54GS, DD-WRT v23 SP2 standard, and Azureus 2.5.0.2.

Try setting TCP listen port and UDP listen port to different values (e.g. 51000 and 51001, rather than having both set to 51000). Doing so seems to have solved the problem for me.
