I am running Vuze on a Fedora Linux box connected to a asus wl520GU running Tomato v1.23.1606 connected to a qwest Actiontec Gt701. With Vuze running I am nearly unable to access the internet from any other computer on my network. If I quit Vuze the 'net returns to normal is 30 seconds. I've throttled azurues down to 40 max connections and it's a little better, but the internet on any other computer is extremely sluggish. The connections do not drop, but it's as if the bandwidth is maxed out. Azurues is reporting usage at about 40-50 kbs. My max download is around 160.

You might want to check to see how many connections are actually in use: Advanced > Conntrack/Netfilter

If you are using QoS, you need to perhaps lower the upstream bandwidth specified in Basic Settings.

If you're not using QoS, you might want to try it. It will give non-BT traffic a fair chance.

There seem to be some settings which I don't see in other software to enable communications with other machines on your LAN. Might be worth checking that out. Also disable DHT and other such vermin ....

as a test, try setting your upload to something very low; e.g. 10kbyte/s. if that betters the situation, set the upload to 85-90% of your maximum upstream, enable qos and it should do better.
