I installed the lastest DD-WRT firmware, but was having trouble with the wireless computers getting connected and would have to reboot the router.

I then upgraded back to the latest Linksys firmware as was successful.

Will the upgrade back to Linksys be as stable as it was when I first bought my router, or is there anything else I have to do to either clear out the ROM or anything???

After flashing a new firmware especially when switching between distributions always reset to defaults. Surest & easiest way is to hold the reset button for 30sec.

If you didn't do this after installing DD-WRT then that was probably the reason you were having problems.

If you're running HyperWRT (based directly from Linksys sources so it runs great) then you can put

    erase nvram; reboot

into the startup script (administration page), click "save", and then click "reboot router". This will automatically wash DD-WRT out of the memory.
