Backing up JFFS during upgrades feature idea

Here's a feature idea.... I find it a bit of a hassle that every time I upgrade I need to first:

    1. Connect to the router with WinSCP, navigate to the JFFS folder, copy my files to my local computer as backup.
    2. Disable JFFS
    3. Upgrade Tomato.
    4. Re-enable JFFS, format JFFS
    5. Reconnect with WinSCP, navigate to /JFFS, recopy all the files across, reboot
    ...etc

How about an addition to the upgrade or configuration pages along the lines of:

"Download/Backup all JFFS contents as zip file"

    or even:

"Download/Backup all JFFS contents as zip file, then disable JFFS, and upgrade"

    combined with:

"Enable JFFS, Format, and restore from zip file"

    Thoughts?

If u upgrade tomato the JFFS does not get erased, just disable JFFS, upgrade, re-enableand it works, at least for me till now.

Really? You mean to say you disable JFFS, upgrade, re-enable it.... and all the files are still there? I'll try that later, I have to do an upgrade tonight... Thanks.
