    Running V2.3R63

I have a 120GB drive in USB port 1 of my NSLU2 with about 80GB data on it

I have a brand new 300GB drive in USB port 2.

Both drives are formatted (by the NSLU2) to EXT.

    I initiate a backup from Disk1 to Disk2.

    I receive an email notification:
08/23 11:04:36 Drive Backup: Backup start.

Then 5 seconds later receive another email notification:
08/23 11:04:41 Drive Backup: Backup complete.
The data definitely is not being copied.... (80GB+ in 5 seconds... I wish!)

What am I doing wrong ?

    Hmmm. So further investigation...

I have put identical 300GB drives on USB ports 1 and 2.

I put about 2GB of data on Disk1 , setup backup and sure enough it worked. Received start noticiation via email and a few minutes later received the finish notification via email.

Does the backup function only work if both drives are of the same size ?

I was under the impression that the Port 2 drive only had to be larger or equal in size to the Port 1 drive.

Frankly I would be suspicious of any 2 GB backup on the NSLU2 that completed in only a few minutes. Based on all the back up time reports we have had, something like this should take an hour or more at least. Unless you have a new superimproved NSLU2 version, I would check your test back up to be certain all the data is all there.

Now if you could please explain how you got your email notifications to work, I would be obliged. Mine doesn't work. :)

    Thanks for the reply.

I manually copied all of my data (approx 120gb) to a new 300GB drive and put that as Disk1 on the NSLU2. I've put a matching 300GB drive on Disk2 of the NSLU2.

Backup works absolutely fine. My music and photos are now backed up onto Disk2.

I have no idea why the old 120GB couldn't backup onto the larger 300GB drive. I guess I'll never know and it's not so important to me now.

As far as the email is concerned I don't think I did anything special to make it work. Here are the two configuration screens. My router is IP 192.168.1.1
