Bad WRT54G HTTPS certificate after fw upgrade

After the fw upgrade (to v4.20.6), I am unable to connect to the WRT54G v3.1 router.

Prior to the upgrade, the router had been configured to only accept secured HTTP connections.

Now, after the upgrade, the same PC which was able to connect to it prior to the upgrade complains that the certificate is invalid.

I am unable to attach a screen shot of the error dialog to this post... So I am typing it...<sigh>

"You have received an invalid certificate. Please contact the server administrator or email correspondent and give them the following information: Your certificate contains the same serial number as another certificate issued by the certificate authority. Please get a new certificate containing a unique serial number."
BTW, I am using firefox. And it happens on both of my machines, WinXP and Linux.

    Any ideas?

Well you could always reset the router to defaults by holding the reset button in for 30 sec which would allow you to connect over HTTP

But to solve your problem I believe the following should work:

    1. In Firefox click on the Tools menu then Options
    2. Click on Advanced and then scroll down and expand the Certificates category
    3. Click the Manage Certificates button and then delete the Linksys certificate from the Web Sites tab.
    4. You will probably need to close and reopen the browser for the change to take affect.
