Bandwidth Limiter question.

It seems like the bandwidth limiter does not always limit the bandwidth. When I set the max upload rate limit to 200kbits for a range of IP address, the realtime ip traffic graph shows specific wireless devices in the range peaking up to 500kbits; this also occurs for download rate. For example, when playing an online game and someone else is downloading, there is noticeable lag spikes. However, the ping is fine when no one else is downloading/uploading.

Is this how it's supposed to work, am I setting it up wrong, or that's how it's supposed to work?

Speedtest with bandwidth limiter off- 3200kbits down 900 kbits up
Currently using AdvancedTomato 1.15 on linksys e3200
edit: Seems to be occuring on Asus RTN16B running tomatousb 1.28 as well

    Thanks for reading

I have attached a screenshot of my bandwidth limiter settings.

The stable version or the beta version (1.2x)? I can just use the advancedtomato webGUI to upgrade directly to victek's tomato? The victek website how-to states I should first install the web-flash ddwrt version first.

1.2x - it is not beta, it is a normal build but everything between 1.2 and 1.3 is named as beta... dont worry and try!

    I'm using Tomato RAF Firmware v1.28.9013 MIPSR2-RAF-V1.2v K26 USB on an RT-N16

And I'm having an issue with upload bandwidth in the limiter.
My configuration is different. I've created a guest wifi on br1 so wireless clients don't have access to the LAN. The download limit works properly but the upload seems to bypass QOS limits altogether. I get upload bandwidth allowances as if QOS is disabled.

    Steps I took were:
    1. create LAN and and assign br1
    2. create virtual wifi and assign to br1
    3. enable bandwidth limiter and enable limiter on br1 and set ceiling limits to appox. 15% of my actual bandwidth.

    Any thoughts?

You cannot use QoS and BW limiter together... disable QoS and enable BWl
