Bandwidth reports per IP? Walkthrough?

Been reading a bit here and there of what I can find. so far I have been able to successfully setup a CIFS share and I have been able to create IP tables in the script area.

How often does this data reset? I would like to get daily, weekly, and/or montly reports. Is this possible. Essentially, I just need to see who my problem users are. Know of any walkthroughs or good articles I can read?

    Thanks.

Using the following commands via telnet, I get the following data:

    # iptables -L traffic_in -v -n
    Chain traffic_in (1 references)
pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination
