I have a BEFCMU10 v3 cable modem on CoxHSI. I've had the levels looked at by one of the Cox employees who hang out on DSLReports, and he says they are close to correct. The problem is I keep losing connection at various random periods, from a high of 17 days down to a low of 1 hour.. When the connection drops, all lights on the modem are still normal, and a WAN DHCP release/renew works fine. The modem recovers if you powercycle it, release/renew WAN IP from the WRT54GL/Tomato web interface, wait a few seconds, powercycle again. then release/renew again, then everything is peachy again, for a random length of time. I'd think if the CM was failing, and losing connectivity with the CMTS, I would NOT be able to release/renew the WAN IP...I'm pretty attached to the CMU10 as it nests with my WRT54GL router and the pair fits nicely in their location.. Is this something that BEFCMU10's do?
