Hi, I have a cable modem internet.
I've call my ISP telling that I would like to put a Linksys modem cable.
they told me that I can't , cable modem are locked to there network.

I was thinking if I can cheat and put my cable modem MAC into the Linksys modem top get my internet work with this modem.

the main reason is cosmetic only, I want to Stack all my linksys box together :D

    thank you

What cable company do you have that won't allow customers to supply their own modem?

I don't think you can add or change the settings on the Linksys cable modem.

Thats just wrong - They need to change their policy. But like I said, I don't think you can add or change the settings like MAC address on the Linksys cable modem.
