BEFSR41 Router - Problem entering setup with slow computer

I have a BEFSR41 Router and I have no problem using setup with newer computers, but when I use a slow P1 laptop, a Sony or IBM Thinkpad, after I login the display is scrambled. Information is not displayed in correct location on screen and some source is displayed.

I would prefer to administer with a older dedicated laptop in my non-traditional application.

Make sure you are using a recent browser. Either the latest IE you can run or Firefox(my preference). Speed shouldn't be more than an annoyance.

Also, keep an eye on your router, my BEFSR41 died a loooong time ago.

    Good luck

    BEFSR41

You mentioned your BEFSR41 "died". I think mine may have died too. These past few days, my broadband has been really messed up - nonexisitant in fact. When contacted Comcast (provider) they asked me to disconnect my router (BEFSR41) and low & behold - it works great when disconnected. But when I reconnect my router - I get the same problems. Here's the really weird part......the lights on the router appear normal. but I obviously have something wrong with my router.

How can I trouble shoot my router?

Should I download and install updates?

How do I install updated softwatre on this router?

How can I know if I need to replace the router?

    Thanks,
