I have never been able to get anything near 100 megabits on the LAN side of this router in the 6 years I have used it.

Currently I have 3 PC's networked. One is running WinXP Pro SP2 with Gigabit onboard PCI NIC and 3000MHz CPU. The other 2 are Win98SE with PCI 10/100Mb Nic's and 1000MHz CPU's. All LAN connects are @ Full Duplex. All cables are CAT 5. Current firmware is 1.46.02 All LED's on router OK with no collisions indicated.

LAN is way below 100 megabits. For eg. when downloading a 110 megabyte file to the WinXp PC from a Win98 PC the constant download is 27 megabits. Upload speed from the WinXP PC is is all over the map from 2.8 Mb to 18.5 Mb and averaging 11.8 Mb. What gives ? ? ? Where is the 100 Mb LAN ?

WAN on WinXP PC is good at download speeds up to 8.8 megabits and upload speeds up to 1.0 megabits.

Its probably the 98se machine thats causing the issues.

in the Years ive worked with the MS environment ( 1,200+ Pcs in an active environment ) 98se has NEVER performed at 100Mbit.

I would setup another XP machine and test from XP to XP and see if that changes anything, test yer cables, and see if you have QoS enabled. The other thing is to make sure that all the Ports are coming up as 100/full for the Port Speeds.

Thx for the info. Linksys router LED's indicate that all is @ 100Mb/full duplex.
