    Hello, I have vary strange problem my router befsr41 v4.2 was working perfect, until yesterday when i found vary strange behaviour. When i power on the pc i can`t ping the gateway and to solve the problem i have to power off/on the router and then everything is OK until next (power off) or (stand by) by any computer in the internal network. I have tried firmwares:
    but still the same problem, for every pc in the network i have to power off/on the router so that the particular pc can see the gateway

    any idea?

    can't see it being the firmware, but possibly a setting on the router. you have not said if you reset the router to factory defaults or tried other settings on the router.

    yep all ready done reset. The most strange thing is that it was working properly with some settings about UPnP forwarding and there are no hardware or software changes before the problem occur

    do you have any firewall software running on any of the PCs that are trying to stop ICMP packets from leaving the PC. do you have static IPs set on your PCs or is DHCP enabled?

    windows firewall -> off
    kaspersky AV -> off
    static IPs @ LAN
    let me explain the situation, there is ping to GW & DNS, I unplug the STP cable from one of the PCs (easy way to simulate power off/on PC), 2 sec later I plug it and there is no ping to GW & DNS but still pinging the routers LAN and WAN IP address. Then unplug/plug the power supply of the router and the ping to GW & DNS comes back

    The problem was in my ISP, but they were so busy tell the clients about it :angry: . Anyway I`m feeling happy that I can keep using my router and also not the lucky one, having unique problem. :halo:

    thx for the response Toxic
