As a newbie I have a question. I have a BEFsr81 that I want to use as a plain old switch. I currently have a Comcast cable modem with a 3 port switch. It ius feeding a Linksys 8 port switch(wired) a wireless router and I want to hook up the BEFSR81 as another switch but I get all kinds of conflicts when adjusting the settings. I know it would be easier just to get another 8 port switch but I have this and want to use it. Is there a way to turn off the router stuff and jsut make it a wired switch?

Thanks for any help you can give.

When you use any Linksys router as a swtich make sure you are not using the WAN port ( unless you know how to properly route, or are using Bridge mode ).

On that note, make sure that the Last port on the Router is what you Uplink to the other router/switch.

For the "Switch" part, there is little to no config you can do. as since you are not using it as a router/gateway the GUI cannot be used to run services as traffic is not going THROUGH the router, but parallel to it.
