BEFVP41 v2

OK, so I just spent a week talking (fighting) with linksys support team out of Cal. I have a BEFVP41 v2 and when I try to change my default gateway (I have a static address) to something the router should NOT be able to access the router still pass packets to the net just like normal.
They guys from Linksys told me that if the router can not find the real default gateway then it just broadcasts the packet on the wan port and hopes that someone (next hop) picks it up and sends it on down the line.
Why am I trying this? Well I have several of these devices at remote sites and I want to redirect all internet traffic over my VPN tunnel to the main office so I can content filter. I added a custom route to tell the router how to get to peer IP address to set up the tunnel and then wanted to change my default gateway to push all traffic over that tunnel.
If anyone has any clever ideas I would love to here them. I also would be interested in looking at custom firmware but I haven’t found anything about changing the firmware for this device, just the wap's

    Thanks for reading this
