Hi I ve setup i small office a BEVVP41 so the user is able to connect trough VPN to the BEFVP41. Is it possible with standard PPTP connection in windows XP giving ext ip of router en passwordkey? Or should a specific client be used?

I know i need username password en ext ip to setup up PPTP on windows,
the problem is that i don't understand the BEFVP41 side of config.

Any help would be welcome, thanks:thumbup:

The BEFVP41 only supports IPSEC vpn's, not PPTP or L2TP. You could use the IPSec client included with XP but only if your BEFVP41 has a static IP. I would go with the Greenbow client though as it is much easier and will let you connect when using a dynamic dns server and dynamic ip address with relative ease.

The Befvp41 is crap for a VPN Concentrator. The support for it is lacking, and its IPsec config does not work with XP's native Connection. You WILL need to use a 3rd party application for it to work.

Honestly, your best bet is to setup a PPTP vpn connection into a Xp work station, then pass ports 1437, 47-GRE ( Protocol ), and 500 for PPTP. Its much easier to setup then going through the crap VPN support that Linksys/Cisco put into that POS befvp41 router.
