    Hi:

New here; was looking for the proper forum for the BEFW11S4 80211b router. Which is the proper forum to discuss issues concerning this device??

    Thanks

    Re: BEFW11S4 V2.0-V3.2 Firmware released (1.45.10)

Is the 1.45.10 the final firmware upgrade for the v2.0-3.2s? I was hoping they would release an upgrade supporting WPA, as they did for the v4 in firmware release 1.50 on 10/23/03.

I think if they were to have added WPA for the v2.0-3.2s, , they'd probably have done so with this upgrade on 04/15/04. Guess I'll have to get a new router if I want WPA.

I noticed in the unofficial firmware release forum, Linksys/Cisco released a 1.46 on their international site for v3.2 (which is what I have, a v3.2 BEFW11S4 running 1.45.10), but since it's (a) not supported, and (b) no changelog available to list support for WPA, it's a no go.

Does anyone know if the chip for the v2.0-3.2s is incapable of supporting WPA? Who can we contact at Linksys/Cisco specifically to find out? Thanks for any info or advice you can give me on this. :D

Want to extend range of BEFW11S4

Any ideas on the easiest way to extend the range?
Antennas are hard wired, so I can't plug in new ones or easily use a separate RF amplifier.
Doesn't seem I can use firmware to boost power.
Seems this product is orphaned; LinkSys has a G range extender that is compatible with b access clients, but only G wireless router products.

I think I've done about the best I can on location, so I need power.

    Any ideas?

    802.11b Forum

Where can I find the 802.11b Forum? I have a couple of old BEFW11S4 boxes and I'd like to do something with them.
