Can anyone recommend alternative firmware(s) for ADSL modems, and their associated popular modem(s). I've got two ADSL modems... Don't think they'll have better firmware replacements though. I end up rebooting them once a day, week or month depending on their moods. 1. USRobotics USR9112 - ADSL modem, 1 port Ethernet, 1 USB. 2. D-Link DSL-2540U - ADSL modem, 4 port Ethernet. Looking for reliable ADSL modem firmware, like Tomato and DD-WRT have become trusted names for Broadcom based chipset routers. All this good talk of routers here, but you must connect them to some telco termination gear? Clarification: I only use one modem (USR9112 these days) at a time, connected to a Buffalo WHR-HP-G54-5-EU router running Tomato (SgtPepperKSU Mod).
