What firmware has the best QoS capability?

Im currently using DD-WRT as i can limit my download speed aswell. I find this helps for multiplayer games when another client access a webpage. However this still affects my in game ping a great deal.

Anyone know of any better qos support in any other firmware?

you need to then set the gaming PC to have the highest priority (premium) and the other client via a port or mac/ip address to have lowest priority (bulk)

Yeah its all setup fine. I notice a difference when qos is on or off but it still lags the game. I dont think I can do much with my connection as its only 512/256. And my understanding of traffic shaping is that you can only really shape the outgoing traffic well.

I just wanted to know if anyone has experience with qos on any other firmware? better results etc?

afaik using IP tables you cna shape incomming and outgoing.

ddwrt has about the best QoS there is.

if the other client that is effecting you is on a lan port of the router, then set the lan port speed to 256 to at least low the bandwidth as well as his priority.

Well I know that when I increase the download speed in my Qos for gaming it lags way less depending on how much you increase it by. When I increase my upload I get better stats: more and faster kills, faster loading time, and take more shots from the enemy.

Also setting DMZ to the device helps a lot to bypass the firewall and get better gaming results, but you better watch out for hackers who can get through your system when DMZ is enabled(this rarely happens to me, most likely it never happens, but it actually can).
