Best Way to Extend Range

I know there is discussion on this site about ways to extend signal and there is the wre54g. But I haven't found a good solution yet.

I am setting up a Satellite connection to my parents house that is quite spread out. Got a new DLink N router that isn't going very far wirelessly... So will likely just use a regular Linksys b/g router. But still will need to increase the signal to reach the rest of the house. There are no other signals in this area at all, isolated area. What is the best way to extend a wireless signal where more than one extender might be needed? Heard there are issues with multiple wre54g and there is talk of putting the regular router in another mode to repeat the signal... Just need to get it done, and some advice from others who have expanded the signal in a large house or compound much appreciated....

I haven't messed with the firmware in the new Linux b/g routers before... So not that experienced with doing it, but if that is what needs to do if there are tutorials that would be appreciated.

Thanks for any advice on doing this...
